Appointments and tasks answer different questions

A calendar tells you where your time is committed. A to-do list tells you what still needs to happen. Keeping them together makes it easier to see whether today’s task list fits the day you actually have.

Daybird brings your Google Calendar events and to-dos into one app. Keep appointments on the calendar, collect work as tasks, and schedule time for a task when you are ready to do it.

Use due dates for deadlines

Give a to-do a due date when there is a real deadline. “Send the proposal by Friday” is a deadline, but it does not tell you when to write the proposal. Adding a due date should not make you assume the work already has room on your calendar.

For tasks that do not have a deadline, keep them in a list and choose them during planning. This keeps an arbitrary due date from making every unfinished idea look equally urgent.

Use calendar blocks for the work itself

When a task needs focused time, schedule it around your existing events. A short task might fit between appointments; a larger one may need a dedicated block and a smaller next step.

Daybird works with your connected Google Calendar, so you can review commitments and tasks together. Keep the due date as the deadline and use the scheduled time to decide when to work.

Review before adding more

Start the day by checking appointments, tasks that are due, and work left from yesterday. Pick a manageable set of tasks rather than treating the whole list as today’s plan.

At the end of the day, mark finished tasks complete and review what is left. Moving a task to tomorrow is a new planning decision, not a reason to leave today’s calendar looking unfinished forever.

Keep using the tools you already have

Connecting Google Calendar brings your existing events into Daybird, and event changes sync both ways. You do not need to maintain separate copies of the same appointment.
